At first glance it might not look like the best kickoff to week 10 because the NFC South is such a train wreck, but at the very least Atlanta (4-5) visiting Carolina (2-7) has a low point spread and should be a close game. Plus, playing in such a poor division means the Falcons vs Panthers Thursday night matchup still has meaning for both sub .500 teams.

Before Betting on Falcons vs Panthers

These teams just met two weeks ago and it was kind of a thriller, with the Falcons pulling out a 37-34 OT win. Carolina’s D.J. Moore caught a game tying 62-yard TD with just 0:12 left, but in the excitement he ripped off his helmet drawing a penalty and the PAT from a longer distance missed. Atlanta’s Younghoe Koo hit a 41-yard FG with under 2:00 left in OT to give the Falcons the win.

Atlanta could not build any momentum from the OT win over Carolina, losing 20-17 at home to the Chargers last week. The Falcons have now alternated wins and losses over their last six games, which on the bright side would leave them in line for a win on Thursday night if that trend continues. Atlanta is just 1-3 on the road this season, but their 4-5 record overall still has them tied with Tampa Bay atop the division.

Carolina could have had a two-game win streak if not for Moore’s penalty, but either way they were in trouble last weekend in Cincinnati suffering a 42-21 loss to the Bengals. Cincinnati was up 35-0 at the half in that game so the Panthers have some defensive – and offensive – issues to work out on the short turnaround for a TNF game.

Falcons vs Bears Prediction & Pick

These teams combined for 71 points when they met in week 8, is this a game where you just take the ‘over’ and call it a day? The offshore sportsbooks are definitely going to have a lot of liability on the ‘over’ but that seems the only way to approach this one. Neither team has a defense and it’s a short week.
