San Francisco (9-4) can clinch the NFC West on Thursday night and notch a seventh straight victory if they can get the win over Seattle (7-6). The Seahawks lost 27-7 to San Francisco earlier in the season, and have dropped three of their last four in what has actually been a surprising 2022 for a team that was predicted as one of the worst in the league during the preseason.

Before Betting on 49ers vs Seahawks

Kyle Shanahan has done a great job of getting the 49ers to persevere even after losing two starting QBs, Trey Lance and then Jimmy Garoppolo. Most recently the last pick in the 2022 draft Brock Purdy led San Francisco to a 35-7 win over 7X Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and the Buccaneers with a 16/21, 2 TD day but like other SF quarterbacks he got a bit banged up too with injuries to his oblique and ribs.

Having to play the Thursday game on a short week doesn’t do San Francisco any favors, as not only is Purdy questionable but the team is likely going to be very conservative with offensive weapon Deebo Samuelwho by all reports could be out until January following a knee injury last week.

The 49ers still have a dominant defense regardless of how their offense performs, and Seattle doesn’t exactly have momentum after falling 30-24 to Carolina last Sunday. San Francisco’s defense ranks tops in the NFL in total yards allowed, rushing yards allowed, and points given up.

49ers vs Seahawks Prediction & Pick

The loss of Samuel hurts San Francisco for sure, but people are acting like Purdy was some X-factor even though last week was his first NFL start. Josh Johnson could step in and shine for the 49ers as their 4th starting QB of the season (if Purdy can’t go) especially with weapons like Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.

There’s just one way to play this game though – the 49ers have some offensive questions while the San Francisco defense should also be able to limit Seattle’s effectiveness.
