Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. LA Rams Preview

Monday Night Football brings us a spectacle between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the LA Rams. Brady and the crew are looking solid and are in the hunt for the top of the NFC, while on the other side, the Rams are in a fierce fight for the first place in the NFC West, and if the chance opens, Sean McVay’s side will try to attack the no.1 place in the whole NFC. Yet there is a long way to go until the end of the campaign, and none of these teams is looking that far ahead,

Bucs Looking for Morale Boost

Bruce Arians’ side lost against the Saints 38-3 and that is something that again raised a lot of doubts about their strength. Even though Tampa Bay demolished Carolina on the very next week, 46-23, the suspicion stays.

It seems that the offensive part of the team struggles at some moments, and even though Brady posted 23 TDs and seven interceptions, still, the Bucs look as if they play below 100%. Meanwhile, the defense is carrying the team and creates momentum. That is what many agree upon, the swing comes following good stops. Right now, Tampa Bay is the third in the league in yards allowed with 300.3 per game.

They also have the second-highest number of sacks, 32, with only the Steelers having more. So this team isn’t about Brady, Gronk, Evans, etc, but more of Pierre-Paul Barrett, White, and the rest of the guys.

All eyes on Goff

Once the MVP contender, the leader of the most ruthless offense in the league, Jared Goff is now a mediocre quarterback. Yes, he is, and we know that you think this is some foolish claim, but stop for a moment and look at his numbers.

He threw for 2,447 yards, 13 touchdowns with 6 picks. Goff also suffered 13 sacks and recorded five fumbles, with the Rams losing all three games on the road. The latest two, against the Dolphins and the 49ers, saw them scoring 17 and 16 points respectively, and that is only due to Goff’s poor form.

The good thing is that the Rams’ defense does one hell of a job every night, and that likeways Tampa Bay’s, they harass the rivals regardless of the venue. They are the second in allowed yards, 296.4 per game, and look extremely sharp no matter the result at the scoreboard. The two-time DPOY Aaron Donald, with nine and Leonard Floyd with seven sacks lead the crew, along with Jalen Ramsey, whose form is going up from match to match.

Head to Head Matches

Last year we saw 95 points in the match between these two sides. The Bucs won, 55-40, pulling out one of the most appealing victories of the entire season.

Prediction

Only because of Goff’s poor form on the road we will suggest betting on the Bucs with the spread. At the moment, the bookies placed it at 4.5 points, and that shouldn’t be too hard for the home team.
