A huge AFC West game on Saturday night. The folks at NFL Network are pumped for the second game of a doubleheader as the Los Angeles Chargers come to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. Arrowhead Stadium is where the game will be played, with the winner taking over first place in the AFC West with just two games to go. The Chiefs won earlier in the season on the road in Los Angeles.

The Chiefs and Chargers both come into the game with 7-6 records. The Chiefs are coming off the win over the Oakland Raiders, while the Chargers have won four straight games. Kansas City is 4-2 at home, while the Chargers have gone 3-3 when playing on the road this season. The Kansas City Chiefs are -1 over the Los Angeles Chargers as part of the National Football League action on Saturday night.

Chiefs Seeking to Hang On

The Kansas City Chiefs started the season 5-0. They looked like the best team in the National Football League. Since then though, the Chiefs have struggled to just 2 wins in 8 games. Despite that, Kansas City with a win in this game would need just 1 out of 2 against the Dolphins and Broncos to win the division.

Kansas City’s offense is the 8th best at passing and 12th at rushing the football. Kareem Hunt has been disappointing as of late, but still has nearly 1,050 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns. Tyreek Hill will reach 1,000 receiving yards with 14 in this game, and has 6 touchdowns. Alex Smith comes into the game with Quarterback Rating of 61.9.

Chargers Looking to Steal Road Win

Phillip Rivers is putting up one of his best statistical seasons. The veteran quarterback has thrown the football all over the field for 3,611 yards and 23 touchdowns. Los Angeles is in a different boat from Kansas City, as they lost their first four games, and gone 7-2 since then.

Melvin Gordon is the top running back for the Chargers. In the final three games, Gordon needs just under 50 yards per game on the ground to get to 1,000. Keenan Allen has bounced back from injuries a season ago, and leads the team with 1,143 receiving yards. The Chargers finish the season on the road at the Jets, and then come home to host the Raiders in Week 17.

Thriller at Arrowhead

What a game. What a great idea to have a pair of games on Saturday, and this is an excellent game to show. The Chargers and the Chiefs are both hungry for a win, and are both going to play a great game. Look for the defenses to get involved early. Both teams have shown signs of great defensive play, but both have big time question marks.

When push comes to shove the deciding factor is the home field advantage. It’s tough to win in Kansas City, especially on a loud December cold night. Look for the Kansas City Chiefs to come away with the win, which means we have to bet the Kansas City Chiefs -1 over the Los Angeles Chargers. Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs -1 over the Los Angeles Chargers in National Football League action.
