Jazz vs Lakers Preview

The Jazz and the Lakers meet in the second of back-to-back games on Monday night in LA. The first one saw the purple and gold defeating the league leaders after overtime, but we need to say that Jazz had many absent players, among them Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the axis that moves the team. On the other side, Anthony Davis might have some limited minutes on Monday night, but the chances for that are pretty low, to be honest. After the exciting first game, this one promises a lot of fun as well, so we had to cover it.

Snyder Returning Some Players

Gobert, Favors, and Conley sat out last night’s match, and the head coach Quin Snyder wanted to rest these three following Mitchell’s injury. He also wanted to overload Bogdanovic, Clarkson, and the rest of the team and prepare them for the following period during which Utah has to play without its first attacking option.

The Spida scored 26.4 points per match this year, and that gap needs to be filled. The Jazzers do have excellent offense, arguably the most diverse and potent in the league, but still, in cases like this one, some adjustments need to be made.

The Jazz scores 117 points per game, however, in the last three on the road, they haven’t reached that limit. It is why they lost all of them, against the Mavs, Suns, and the Lakers.

Predictably Unpredictable Lakers

Win, and loss, win, and loss.. that has been the trajectory of the Lakers’ success over the past 12 games. Their inconsistency became predictable, which is why the victories against the Nets in Brooklyn and the Jazz aren’t that surprising.

Frank Vogel tested pretty much all the players with AD and LeBron gone due to injuries, and it appeared that the purple and gold don’t have some particular leader on their crew without these two involved. Instead, we have a different guy every other night who leads the team.

Five different players have had a team-high in scoring over the past six games, Caldwell-Pope, Drummond, Schroder, Kuzma, and Horton-Tucker. It is a superb stake for the future because the Lakers’ offensive options are becoming more and more diverse, which will come in handy, no doubt about it.

Jazz vs Lakers Head to Head

These two sides played twice this year. The first game in Utah saw the hosts winning, 114-89. LBJ had 19 for the guests who were without AD. On the other side, Utah had six double-digit players, with Gobert and Clarkson scoring 18 each.

Saturday’s game ended 127-115 for the Lakers following overtime. Drummond had 27, Schroder and KCP 25 each. Clarkson, on the other end, dropped 27, while Joe Ingles scored 20.

Jazz vs Lakers Pick and Prediction

According to the information we have at the moment, all those players who sat out (except Mitchell) will be available for the Jazz. Therefore, we would bet on their win in this match. With Conley and especially Gobert, they will be a much better unit, which is why we close this preview with a suggestion to stake money on the Jazz.
