The Breeders’ Cup Distaff kicks off a massive couple of hours of action on track at Santa Anita on Saturday. This race will see fillies and mares aged three and older in action over 1 1/8 miles on the dirt. It has often thrown up some big-price winners, and it promises to be another competitive race in California.

Before Betting On Breeders’ Cup Distaff

The Breeders’ Cup Distaff is always one of the most competitive races on the two-day card, with fillies and mares competing over 1 1/8 miles on the dirt. Brad Cox previously trained the winners of the 2018 and 2020 renewals, and he holds a very strong chance to claim victory this weekend with the impressive Idiomatic.

The four-year-old has been in excellent form throughout the season, winning on five from her six starts. She has highlighted her dominance over the Distaff trip on each of her previous two appearances, including when landing the G1 Spinster Stakes at Keeneland in October. She certainly looks the one to beat on form.

Adare Manor could prove an interesting alternative this weekend, as the four-year-old has won each of her five starts this season. She warmed up for the Distaff with victory over an extended mile by over five lengths from Desert Dawn in the G2 Zenyatta Stakes, and she previously landed victory over course and distance in the G2 Santa Margarita.

Search Results and Clairiere are two superstar mares that have seen this all before, but the former could be the standout selection of the two more experienced rivals after landing the G3 Locust Grove in a very eye-catching fashion at Churchill Downs in September.

While Idiomatic and Adare Manor have been extremely impressive, it could be argued that the three-year-olds have been overlooked in the betting. Pretty Mischievous was the winner of the Kentucky Oaks, and should go well. However, Randomized could be the progressive rival to keep on side after winning on each of her previous three starts, which includes a victory over the Distaff distance by over lengths in the G2 Beldame Stakes.
