The Ian Garry vs. Vicente Luque odds suggest the undefeated Irishman is going to win the UFC 296 main card opener.

Not only does Garry (13-0) have a much better record than Luque (22-9-1), but he’s also 4 inches taller and stronger than his UFC 296 opponent.

However, there’s one thing that’s not going in his favor. He’s been getting a lot of hate from MMA fans and fellow fighters, which could cause him to lose focus inside the Octagon.

Before Betting on Vicente Luque vs. Ian Garry UFC 296 Fight

Saying that Ian Machado Garry isn’t getting much love from UFC fans would be an understatement. The MMA crowd seems to hate him for various reasons.

Some can’t forgive him for his behavior toward his previous opponent Neil Magny, which nearly cost the American visitation rights of his children.

Others can’t seem to leave behind stuff from his personal life, e.g., the fact that his 40-year-old wife had written a self-help book on how to catch a young successful athlete.

Further, some MMA fans have been mocking him for his decision to take her last name, Machado. Then, there’s a rumor that her ex-husband is reportedly living with them in their home.

If it were just MMA fans who were mocking him on social media, Garry probably wouldn’t care much. But his fellow UFC fighters have started doing the same. Sean Strickland has already done it in a video, but the worst is yet to come.

Keep in mind that Ian Machado Garry needs to be in the same press conference as Colby Covington ahead of UFC 296. Covington, who’s famously one of the biggest trash talkers in the UFC, is going to destroy him, but will this have an impact on him in the Octagon?

It might, and if it does, the Irishman is in trouble. The thing is that he’s fighting Vicente Luque, who’s a fighter who can make the most of even the smallest mistake made by his opponent. This guy’s got a finish rate of 86.36%, so if Garry’s not 100% focused, he might end up KO-ed or choked out.

Ian Garry is a loudmouth who likes being in the spotlight, but the hate he’s been getting just has to get to him. And we think that’s something “The Silent Assassin” will take advantage of on December 16.

Sure, even though Vicente Luque is our prediction, we don’t advise putting a lot of money on him. After all, the Luque vs. Garry odds aren’t favoring his opponent by mistake.

Garry is a phenomenal fighter with a very bright future ahead of him, which is why his nickname “The Future” suits him perfectly. But his winning run can’t last forever.

He’s bound to lose some time and the UFC 296 fight with Luque might be when it happens.

Pick: Vicente Luque
