First place in the Big Ten is on the line on Sunday in Madison when #2 Purdue visits #6 Wisconsin. The Boilermakers survived another close game with Northwestern this week (105-96 OT) to push their winning streak to six games while the Badgers got caught looking ahead to this game a bit in an 80-72 loss at Nebraska also in overtime.

Before Betting on #2 Purdue vs #6 Wisconsin NCAAB

Purdue (20-2) had a solid game on Wednesday scoring 105 points, but even in OT it’s hard to overlook that they allowed 96 to Northwestern. Then again maybe the Wildcats just match up well with the Boilermakers as they did beat them 92-88 back on December 1st in a game that also went into an extra period.

Zach Edey is making his case for a back-to-back National Player of the Year award which would be the first time somebody did that since Ralph Sampson in the early 80’s. Edey had 30 points along with 15 rebounds against Northwestern this week and has 26+ points and double-digit rebounds in five of his last six contest. Edey also dominated Wisconsin in Purdue’s 63-61 win last season scoring 17 points while also grabbing 19 rebounds.

Edey is a load at 7’4″ and 300 pounds and it has to be noted that Purdue simply throws him the ball in the post and waits for the referees to call a foul. On Wednesday the Boilermakers shot 46 free throws compared to 8 from Northwestern so Wisconsin will have to adjust based on that metric.

#2 Purdue vs #6 Wisconsin NCAAB Prediction & Pick

If the Badgers can get the Purdue big man in foul trouble they may have a chance here – but good luck with that the way officiating has been on Purdue’s side. Wisconsin being at home will keep them in it, but the Boilermakers should pull away late on free throw shooting.

Pick: Purdue -2.5
