Before Betting on Brewers vs Mets June 16

It’s been a dismal June for the Milwaukee Brewers who have gone just 3-10 this month and have seen their hold on 1st place in the NL Central dissipate to the Cardinals. Milwaukee is hoping that an offensive breakout in Wednesday’s 10-2 win over the New York Mets is what gets this team back on track.

The Mets returned to Citi Field after a 5-5 trip to the West Coast and now vie for the series win on Thursday night. It’s been a tale of two pitching performances the last two games vs. the Brewers, with Chris Bassitt throwing 8.0 IP of shutout ball on Tuesday in the 4-0 win but David Peterson lasting just 4.0 IP in Wednesday’s loss.

Tylor Megill (4-2, 4.50 ERA) will try to give the Mets some pitching stability on Thursday. The right-hander has suffered two straight losses, including not being able to get out of the 2nd inning in his last start while allowing 8 ER to the Nationals.

The Brewers have some value in the offshore odds as +122 underdogs at Pinnacle the way Megill pitched for the Mets in his last start. Aaron Ashby (1-5, 3.91 ERA) hasn’t exactly been tearing it up for Milwaukee though giving up 10 ER in his last two starts.

The Mets are 8-2 in their last 10 games vs. a LH starter and Wednesday’s loss broke a 9-game winning streak at home. That makes the Mets a pretty solid play in this spot, and the total also looks way too low across the board, with some extra value at BetUS.
