The Padres (8-9) and the Dodgers (11-6) play the rubber match of their weekend series as part of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. San Diego had a nice comeback win on Friday, 8-7 in 11 innings but L.A. evened things up in a 5-2 victory on Saturday. These two clubs also split a two game series to start the season in South Korea.
Before Betting on April 14 Padres vs Dodgers
Mookie Betts is going to be said to see Padres pitching leave until they meet up for their next series on May 10th-12th in San Diego. Betts is hitting .500 vs. SD this season (10-20) with 12 RBI including a 3-5 night in Saturday’s win. Fernando Tatis, Jr. was 3-5 with a HR for the Padres in Friday’s victory.
San Diego will try to get the series win and pull within two games of the Dodgers in the West behind Yu Darvish (0-1, 3.86 ERA). He didn’t give up a run vs. the Dodgers in his season debut, but was also limited to 3.2 IP since it was so early in the year. Darvish got roughed up on Monday vs. the Cubs giving up 4ER over just 3.0 IP while walking three. On the bright side, Darvish has held Betts to a .176 average (6-34) in his career.
The Dodgers counter with James Paxton (2-0, 1.64 ERA) who has allowed just 2 ER over his first 11.0 IP this season, both L.A. wins.

April 14 Padres vs Dodgers MLB Prediction & Pick
We all know Darvish has the potential to spin a gem any time he takes the mound, but he’s just been too inconsistent to start the year for San Diego to be the play on Sunday night. On the flip side, Paxton has been great in his first two outings as a member of the Dodgers and this offense is potent.
Pick: Dodgers -1.5
