One of the more interesting MLS games this Thursday is in New York, where Red Bulls host Atlanta United. The two sides are playoff contenders, but for the moment, the Bulls are in a much better situation than Atlanta.

Before Betting on New York Red Bulls vs. Atlanta United

NYRB is in very good shape, with seven games in a row at home without a loss. Over the past four, the Red Bulls have won, scoring twice in each of them.

The Red Bull Arena is a stronghold, and the Bulls provide much better performances there than on the road. Most recently, they eliminated the reigning champions and the big rivals, New York City FC, from the US Open Cup, beating them 3-0.

Atlanta has a problematic defense, and that is their biggest problem. They’ve allowed two or more goals in the past ten games. Now that is an alarming trend, which needs to be corrected if they want to reach the playoffs.

The other problem is games on the road. In the last six of them, United couldn’t win, posting five losses and one draw.

The most obvious pick here is to bet on the home team. They are very strong at home, while on the other side, United is terrible on the road.
