A pair of Western Conference teams will get together in the first game of the second half of the season in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors are hosting the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. For the Los Angeles Clippers – they are the 9th seed in the Western Conference, at 30-26. The Clippers trail the Pelicans by just ½ game. Warriors Ready for Second Half of the Season

The Warriors are seeking their fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals. There is no doubt the Warriors will be in the postseason, but maneuvering in the Western Conference may not be an easy task. The Warriors are the top scoring team in all of the league with nearly 116 points scored per game.

Clippers Interesting Spot for Second Half

The Los Angeles Clippers start the second half of the season in kind of no man’s land. The Clippers are second in the Pacific, but 9th in the Western Conference. Los Angeles won their last two games of the first half, and 5 out of their last 6 games. The Clippers are 7th in the league with 108 points per game.

The Clippers top scorer has been Lou Williams. Williams is scoring 23.2 points per game, and taken over the top scoring from Blake Griffin, who was traded to Detroit just before the trade deadline. Los Angeles as a team are scoring 108 points per game, and allowing teams to score 107.1 per game.

Warriors Smoke Clippers at Home

The Golden State Warriors were able to get some energy over the break, and will be ready to go for the second half of the season. The Warriors have the talent to get after it, and should be able to beat the Clippers. Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are a force that the Clippers are not going to be able to guard.
