It may be a must-win game for Liverpool very early this season on Saturday, as the Reds are still chasing their first victory of the new season. Jurgen Klopp’s side host Bournemouth, and they will be heavily expected to pick up a first win of the campaign at Anfield.

Before Betting On Liverpool vs Bournemouth

It hasn’t been a nightmare start to the new season for Liverpool, but it has been far from ideal. The Reds have picked up just two points from their opening three fixtures, and they come into this fixture after suffering a defeat against Manchester United last time out.

This is just the second time in ten years that Liverpool have gone three games into the new season without picking up a victory. On the previous occasion, the Reds were winless in their opening five league fixtures in the 2012-13 season. However, Liverpool has an excellent record against newly promoted sides, as they have lost just once in their previous 33 fixtures. However, that defeat did come against Scott Parker’s former side- Fulham.

Bournemouth have already picked up their first victory since returning to the top-flight, with that success coming on the opening day of the campaign against Aston Villa. However, they have lost each of their previous two fixtures, with those defeats being suffered against Manchester City and Arsenal, with an aggregate scoreline of 0-7.

The trends certainly don’t help Bournemouth’s chances this weekend, as they have lost seven of their previous eight visits to Anfield. Meanwhile, their away record in general in the Premier League is very poor, as the Cherries have lost 13 of their last 15 games on the road.

Despite Liverpool’s slow start to the new season, it is very hard to see past the Reds this weekend. They boast an impressive record against newly promoted sides, and the Cherries struggle for home wins. The Reds at -793 with Pinnacle looks the safest play.
