Event Preview

The action on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule continues to come thick and fast, with the FireKeepers Casino 400 staged at the Michigan International Speedway this Sunday. This race was first staged in 1969, with the field covering a total distance of 400 miles.

Denny Hamlin continued to chip away at Tyler Reddick’s advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship last weekend after winning the Cracker Barrel 400. Hamlin has now finished in the top three in three of the last four races. Reddick continues to lead the championship, but a first finish outside of the top five in four races was suffered last time out.

Ryan Blaney has also been consistent so far this season, finishing in the top ten in three of the last four rounds. Blaney finished eighth in last weekend’s Cracker Barrel 400. Other drivers to achieve top-ten finishes last weekend include Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, and Shane van Gisbergen.
