A busy night of action in the fourth round of the FA Cup is set for Friday, with one of the standout ties taking place at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea remain in the hunt for two major trophies this term, while Aston Villa will be looking to continue their fine recent away record against the Blues.

Before Betting On Chelsea vs Aston Villa

Another leading contender in the FA Cup will crash out of the competition this weekend, as Chelsea and Aston Villa collide in the fourth round on Friday. Chelsea were eliminated by their West Midlands rivals in each of the first four clashes between the sides, but they have landed victories in each of the last three. The most recent meeting between the sides in the competition saw Chelsea land a 3-0 win in the semi-final stage in 2009-10.

However, Villa should feel confident coming into this match after winning each of their last two away from home. But, the Midlands side haven’t recorded three straight away wins against the Blues since 1960. Chelsea’s home record in the FA Cup also deserves immense respect this week, as the Blues have won 40 of their last 47 home matches in the competition.

Meanwhile, the Blues have won their last eight at Stamford Bridge by an aggregate score of 24-3 since a defeat against Man United in London in February 2019. Villa’s FA Cup form is looking up at present, as they ended an eight-game winless sequence by landing victory against Middlesbrough in the previous round of the competition.

However, Villa have suffered defeats in their last seven away matches against Premier League sides in the competition. Their most recent win on the road against top-flight opposition came against Everton in the quarterfinal stage in 1999-2000.
