In College Hoops on Saturday – two ranked teams will get together, as the Michigan State Spartans and Purdue Boilermakers meet up. The Michigan State Spartans are are 23-3 on the season and 11-2 in conference play. The Spartans trail both Purdue and Ohio State in Big Ten play. The Spartans have won 7 straight games, with their most recent on the road at the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Purdue Boilermakers had their recent 19 game winning streak snapped with a loss at home to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Boilermakers come into the game with a 23-3 record, and 12-1 in conference play. The Michigan State Spartans are -3 over the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday. 

Izzo Anchors Spartans

The Michigan State Spartans, led by head coach Tom Izzo are seeking to get a #1 seed overall in the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans lost to Duke to start the season, and then in Big Ten play, they dropped games to the Ohio State Buckeyes and at home against the Michigan Wolverines.

The Spartans are led in scoring by Miles Bridges. Bridges is scoring more than 17 points per game, and ripping down more than 7 rebounds. The Spartans have five guys scoring double digits per game. Nick Ward is second on the team with 13.3 points per game.

Boilermakers Looking to Get Back on Track

Matt Painter and his Purdue Boilermakers are still tied with the Ohio State Buckeyes at the top of the conference standings. Purdue is another team still in line for a chance at a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Boilermakers first loss of the season came to Tennessee, and they followed it up with a loss to Western Kentucky. The Boilermakers are one of the top defensive teams in all of College Basketball. The Boilermakers are allowing teams to score 64.2 points per game.

 Purdue is also one of the most unselfish teams in college basketball, as they are dishing out nearly 18 assists per game.  Purdue is led in scoring by Carsen Edwards with 17 points per game. Vincent Edwards is second on the team, while Isaac Haas and Dakota Mathias are part of the four players for Purdue scoring double digits per game. The Boilermakers are going to the NCAA Tournament for the 30th time in school history.

Spartans Top Boilermakers

The Purdue Boilermakers are looking to get back on track, while the Michigan State Spartans are looking to keep the red hot play going. The Michigan State Spartans are going to win this game. The Spartans have great athleticism, and are one of the toughest teams in all of College Basketball.
