Event Preview

Star players on the PGA Tour will be aiming to build momentum ahead of the third major of the season this weekend, as the Memorial Tournament will be staged in Ohio. A purse of $20 million will be up for grabs, as the field compete across 7,392 yards.

Scottie Scheffler is impossible to overlook this weekend after winning each of the last two editions of the Memorial Tournament. The world number one has been playing consistently without winning in recent outings, taking third at the CJ Cup and T14 at the PGA Championship.

Si Woo Kim could be one of the most in-form players on the PGA Tour at present. He is yet to win in 2026, but the South Korean has achieved seven top-ten finishes. Kim has also finished in the top 20 on five occasions at the Memorial Tournament.

Rory McIlroy hasn’t played at this weekend’s event since 2024. His record at the event is easy to overlook after finishing a career-best T4 on one of his 13 attempts. European interest could instead hinge on Ludvig Aberg, who has finished in the top-25 on his last nine starts.

Memorial Tournament Picks

An interesting play this weekend could be Ben Griffin. The American has finished in the top three on two of his last four starts, and he has recent history of excelling at this event. He shared the lead in each of the first two rounds 12 months ago before finishing second. Griffin could go one better this year.
