The Storm kept it somewhat close early, trailing by 11 points at the break. However, Dallas opened the second half with an 8-0 run, pushing its lead to 19 points. Seattle failed to reach the 20-point mark in all four quarters en route to its worst scoring output of the season.
Flau'jae Johnson scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Natisha Hiedeman contributed 11 points, going 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. The Storm were held to 33 percent shooting overall and 21 percent from beyond the arc.
Phoenix aims to bounce back from its worst loss of the season thus far
The Mercury have dropped six straight after a respectable 2-2 start. Their latest setback was a 111-77 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
Phoenix struggled to keep pace all night long. The home team trailed by 13 after one and by 32 points after three quarters of action, and the final margin was the Mercury's most lopsided defeat of the season.
Kahleah Copper led the way with 18 points on 3-for-7 shooting from 3-point range. Noemie Brochant added 11 points, and Monique Akoa Makani contributed 10 points and five assists. Minnesota won the bench battle 41–18, and Phoenix’s 17 turnovers became 24 points the other way.
