  • The Chiefs toppled the Bills once again, defeating them 32-29 to advance.
  • Philadelphia stormed past Washington, winning 55-23 in the NFC title game.
  • These two teams met in Super Bowl LVII in 2023, which the Chiefs won 38-35.

Super Bowl LIX is finally here! Our Eagles vs Chiefs pick showcases Philadelphia’s attempt to avenge their loss in 2023. Meanwhile, the Chiefs aim to be the first team to win three straight Super Bowls.

Eagles Aim for Revenge

The Eagles had no trouble defeating their division rivals in the NFC Championship Game. Their offense totaled 459 yards and was forced to punt just two times. Not only did Philadelphia dominate on offense, but their defense also proved too much for Washington to handle. They forced four turnovers.

The hard-hitting defensive plays that forced three fumbles against Washington need to be replicated against the Chiefs. Two years ago, Philadelphia’s offense had no trouble scoring in the Super Bowl, but their defense was exposed. Both defenses have improved since then, so the Eagles need to lock in.

Chiefs Eyeing Up History

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improved to a 4-0 postseason record over their conference rivals last week. They went back-and-forth with the Bills for most of the game, before taking a 4th-quarter lead thanks to some clutch plays by Mahomes. Kansas City also got a big stop on defense to end the game.

Kansas City’s defense is the best it’s ever been with Mahomes, making them even more intimidating to face. With the ability to manufacture a scoring drive at any point in time thanks to Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid, the Chiefs only need a few stops to lock up a win. They’ll aim to jump ahead early here.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs Pick

No team has ever won three consecutive Super Bowls. 60 years of history provide a precedent for betting against the Chiefs in this game, and yet I just cannot recommend it. I’ve applied the “don’t bet against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs” strategy to each of the past two postseasons, and it hasn’t let me down yet. Expect a closely contested and exciting game, with Mahomes winning it in the end.
