Trey Gibson is 1-2 with a 5.81 ERA. His FIP of 5.66 confirms the underlying contact quality has been poor; hitters have been squaring him up consistently, and the ERA reflects that rather than obscuring it. The Angels are 32-48 and have won four of their last ten games. Mike Trout and Nolan Schanuel give Los Angeles its most productive lineup options. Their offense has been capable on individual nights even in a down season, and Soriano gives them a chance to win most of his starts.
