• The Wizards are 9-41 and have the worst record in the Southeast Division.
  • Cleveland is 41-10 and has the best record in the Central Division.
  • These teams last played on Dec. 13, 2024, with the Cavaliers claiming a 115-105 victory.

One of the games on tap from Friday night’s NBA slate features the Washington Wizards hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers. Can Washington’s winning streak continue in our Wizards vs Cavaliers pick?

Wizards Look To Extend Win Streak To Four Games

In the rarest of scenarios this season, the Wizards enter this conference tilt riding a three-game winning streak. This includes a 119-102 victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.

Seven players reached double figures in that matchup, including four of the team’s starters. Jordan Poole led the way with 19 points and eight assists.

Kyshawn George added 17 points and seven boards on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor, while Bub Carrington chipped in with 16 points and 10 assists. Washington also got 47 points from its second unit.

The key stretch of this contest took place after halftime. Washington held a four-point lead at the break and outscored Brooklyn 23-12 in the third quarter.

Brooklyn missed 15 of nine 19 shots, enabling the Wizards to seize control of the game.

Cavs Coming Off Hard-Fought Win Against Detroit

On the other side of the matchup, the Cavaliers are fresh off a 118-115 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.

Evan Mobley, who scored just seven points (3-14 FG) in his previous outing against the Celtics, pumped in 30 points, collected nine rebounds, and handed out seven assists. The Cavs big man shot 10-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-5 from 3-point range.

Darius Garland logged 25 points and five assists, while Max Strus added 15 points and six rebounds. Although Cleveland led by eight points after the first quarter, this game went down to the wire.

After Cade Cunningham helped pull the Pistons even at 115 with five seconds left in regulation, Garland advanced the ball up the court and nailed the game-winning basket from just inside the logo at center court.

Wizards vs Cavaliers Pick: Cleveland Remains Dominant Against Washington

The Wizards are 3-7 across their last 10 outings and have had two 16-game losing streaks this season. Additionally, this squad has the worst defense in the association.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have posted six wins in their past 10 games, boast the second-best offensive rating, and are ranked in the top 10 from a defensive standpoint.

Cleveland has defeated Washington 11 straight times, and given the Wizards’ struggles this season, that trend will continue when these teams clash on Friday night.
