The dust has settled on the PGA Championship of 2026, but the competitive action on the PGA Tour continues this weekend, as TPC Craig Ranch hosts The CJ Cup. This event has been held since 1944, with defending champion Scottie Scheffler expected to be a red-hot favorite to retain his title this year.

Scheffler was a dominant winner of the event 12 months ago, and his form continues to be reliable. The American likely would have been disappointed with his final finishing position at the PGA Championship last weekend, fading to T14 after shooting one-under in the final round.

Jordan Spieth holds a respectable record at this weekend’s event, and his reliable record should be respected. The Career Grand Slam will need to wait another season after finishing T18 at last weekend’s major. Spieth has finished in the top ten on three previous occasions at TPC Craig Ranch.

Ryo Hisatsun’s dominant record on course this season deserves huge respect this weekend. The Japanese has cashed on his last 13 starts, which includes top-15 finishes on five occasions. Should be capable of building on his T8 at the Valero Texas Open earlier this year. Brooks Koepka and Davis Thompson also bring reliable recent form to the table and shouldn’t be dismissed.
