The Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) travel to Miami to play the Dolphins (3-6). Our Raiders vs Dolphins prediction is for favored Miami to cover the 7.5-point spread.
Miami’s win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10 kept its faint playoff hopes alive.
Las Vegas has lost five straight and recently made major changes to its coaching staff. Every aspect of the organization is being assessed as they try to move forward in a dreadful year.
Head-to-head, the Dolphins hold a slim 21-20 lead with one tie.

Las Vegas Begins Overhaul with Changes to Coaching Staff
During their bye week, Las Vegas fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and replaced him with Scott Turner. Turner’s father Norv, a longtime respected NFL offensive guru who played a key role in developing Troy Aikman and Philip Rivers, came out of retirement to serve as an adviser. They also named former Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin interim offensive line coach.
Las Vegas is obviously in flux with new minority owner Tom Brady now involved and uncertainty as to how deep that involvement will go. Whether they move forward with head coach Antonio Pierce after the season is in question.
The team has played terribly, their long-term solution at quarterback is not on the roster and they are sticking with Gardner Minshew for the moment. As a team, they are in the bottom third or worse in just about every category. Their two victories are by a combination of seven points, so they could easily be winless.
Miami Still Has a Shot at the Playoffs
Despite Miami’s 2-6 start, their win over the Rams lets them live another week. They have looked like a different team with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback. Their status as 30th in the league in points per game should be thrown out given how poorly their offense played without Tua.
A key is to get Tyreek Hill more involved. He caught three balls for 16 yards against the Rams. Although he scored a touchdown, he needs more targets.
Looking at their schedule, Miami could conceivably get into playoff position. Five of their final eight games are against teams below .500. They need to beat Las Vegas to start their push.
Raiders vs Dolphins Prediction: Miami Should Win With Ease
If Las Vegas’ offense functioned efficiently, they would not have changed coordinators. However, new coaches will not bring new players. They have no running game and are trying to get by with a journeyman quarterback.
Miami is motivated and knows they need to win this game to have a realistic shot at getting in the playoff race. Our Raiders vs Dolphins prediction is for Miami to win by more than 7.5 points.
