The Ohio soccer derby is ahead of us. Two sides aiming to win the MLS Cup clash this Saturday afternoon. FC Cincinnati, the second-placed team in the East, hosts Columbus Crew, the third-placed unit.

Cinci had a chance to get closer to the conference leaders, Inter Miami, two weeks ago when they visited the Herons in Florida. Though, the hosts won that event, 2-0, extending the lead over the Ohio franchise. However, Pat Noonan’s guys have recovered beating CF Montreal in the very next event.

Crew won the past seven competitive matches before losing to the Seattle Sounders in the previous round. During that stretch, Columbus went all the way in the Leagues Cup, taking the trophy and adding another piece of silverware to their collection.
Though a 0-4 defeat to Seattle set off the alarm. It was the first time this year that we saw the Crew in such an inferior position. According to the players, they only had a bad day, and the loss to the Sounders will cause a reaction in the upcoming derby against Cinci.

The first meeting of the year was in Columbus, and back then, Cinci triumphed 1-2. Only one of the last nine haven’t ended with three or more goals, meaning their events bring high efficiency.
