One of the games on tap from Friday night’s NBA slate features the New York Knicks hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder. Will OKC get back into the win column in our Knicks vs Thunder prediction?

Knicks Seeking Second Consecutive Win

Following a three-game slide, the Knicks were victorious in their recent outing, defeating the Toronto Raptors 112-98 on Wednesday night. Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby led a balanced scoring attack, with all of the team’s starters reaching double figures. KAT scored 27 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and blocked two shots.

Anunoby also finished with 27 points and converted four of his six attempts from 3-point range. Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges combined for just 23 points on 9-for-31 shooting overall and 3-for-15 from beyond the arc. Toronto was within 10 points (91-81) with 9:22 left in the fourth quarter before New York responded with a 15-0 burst to put the game out of reach. This marked the Knicks’ seventh straight victory over the Raptors dating back to last season.

OKC Looks To Bounce Back From Loss To Cavaliers

On the flip side of this matchup, the Thunder recently saw their franchise record of 15 straight wins end with a 129-122 setback against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spearheaded OKC’s scoring attack with 31 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Jalen Williams finished with 25 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. Isaiah Hartenstein put together a solid outing, chipping in with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. OKC led by seven points after the opening quarter, but no lead was safe in a contest that featured 30 lead changes.

Fast forward to the final frame in which a crucial sequence swung the tide in Cleveland’s favor. With the Cavaliers nursing a three-point lead (125-122) with 1:19 left to play in regulation, Donovan Mitchell was whistled for a loose ball foul. However, the call was overturned by replay review. And on the ensuing possession, Evan Mobley nailed a 10-foot jumper, giving the Cavaliers a five-point cushion they would not relinquish.

Knicks vs Thunder Prediction: OKC Bounces Back In The Big Apple

Although the Knicks have lost three of their last four games, they have won seven of their last ten. New York is a top-10 scoring squad and boasts the eighth-best scoring defense in the association. Meanwhile, the Thunder have the eighth-highest offensive efficiency rating. Furthermore, they are ranked second in points allowed (103.7 PPG) and first in defensive rating (104.0 Points Per 100 Possessions).

In what should be another high-scoring affair for both teams, OKC will bounce back here, capturing its fourth straight win in this series.
