Another miserable weekend in the Premier League has seen Erik Ten Hag slashed in price to be the first managerial casualty of the 2024-25 season.
The Dutchman was given assurances surrounding his future by INEOS in the summer, but performances on the field this term have failed to show any kind of progression.

Spurs Blow Man United Away to Pile Pressure on Manager
In truth, United’s performances so far this season have offered hope that things could be improving. However, any small progress made was ultimately ended at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Tottenham decimated the Red Devils at the Theatre of Dreams, scoring inside the opening three minutes of both halves, before the scoring was completed by Dominic Solanke in the 77th minute.
United’s seven points at this stage is their joint-fewest after six games of a Premier League season. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have only netted fewer times after six games on one previous occasion.
One of the biggest concerns was the fact that United have now lost successive matches at Old Trafford without scoring for the first time since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s final two home matches in charge.
Pundits Weigh in on Likely Departure
Pundits were quick to label the United performance ‘disgusting’ during Sunday’s broadcast of the match.
Gary Neville noticed similarities between the performance and the final days of Solskjaer’s, Jose Mourinho’s and David Moyes’s reigns at the club.
Trophy success has hidden many of the club’s shortcomings in recent years, but even the memories of EFL Cup and FA Cup glory appeared to have been forgotten about at Old Trafford on Sunday.
However, the general decline at the club far outweighs only Ten Hag’s time at Old Trafford.
United have now lost 23 matches by three or more goals since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure. During the Scotsman’s three-decade stay at United, the Red Devils lost just 22 times by three or more goals in 1,035 matches.
Huge Week Ahead as Erik Ten Hag Faces Sack
Things could get a lot worse for Ten Hag this week, as United face a challenging trip to Porto in the Europa League, before returning to domestic action on Sunday against an improving Aston Villa.
The writing appears to be on the wall for the Dutchman, and there is a feeling that we are approaching the final days of Ten Hag’s reign in charge.
BetUS have already priced up selections to be Ten Hag’s successor, with potential English coaches Gareth Southgate (+300) and Graham Potter (+1200) among the front runners.
However, the current assistant manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy (+200), could be the short-term appointment, with the Dutchman having credit in the bank among fans for his stay at the club in the 2000s.
Kieran McKenna (+1000) is a respected manager among the hierarchy, but it’s unlikely that the Ipswich boss will leave the promoted side this early in the season. Thomas Tuchel (+600) was also reportedly sounded out for the job in the summer.
