Juventus vs. PSV in the Champions League will take place on September 17.
The new-look Champions League gets underway on Tuesday. Juventus will be one of the first clubs to take to the field when they clash with PSV at the Allianz Stadium. The Old Lady will be favored to land an opening-night victory against PSV.
Before Betting on the Champions League
Italian giants Juventus are one of the biggest teams in Europe, but their exploits in the Champions League in recent seasons have led to underwhelming results.
The Old Lady exited the competition in the group stage last term after losing five of their six group stage matches, with their only success coming in a home clash with Maccabi Haifa. This term, they will have four home matches to look forward to, which includes showdowns against Stuttgart, Man City, and Benfica.
The primary aim will be to make it out of the League phase in 2024-25, while they will be looking to avoid an exit in the first knockout round for the first time since 2018-19. Juventus have made a solid domestic start to the season, winning twice in their opening three matches, but transferring their Serie A form to European fixtures has been a big concern since reaching the final in 2017.
PSV will be the first visitors to Turin in the Champions League this season, as they aim to eclipse their best recent showing in the competition, which saw them reach the semi-final stage in 2004-05. However, their chances of achieving that deep run in the competition look unlikely in this new format of the competition this term.
The Dutch side reached the round of 16 stage in the Champions League last term, before being eliminated by Borussia Dortmund. They were excellent in home matches throughout the competition last term, playing out draws against Arsenal and Sevilla, before beating Lens.
Home form will once again be key to their chances of progression this term, with matches against Sporting, Girona, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Liverpool to come following this trip to Turin.
