Fire Look to Keep Surprising
Portland improved to 8-9 in their thrilling come-from-behind rivalry win over the Storm. Now 6-5 at home, the Fire have had much success when spurred on by their passionate home crowd. Trailing by as many as 12-points in the win, and 7 going into the 4th quarter, Portland continues to build a reputation as a 4th-quarter come-from-behind juggernaut. They will be looking to avenge their opening day loss to the Sky in this one.
Sky in Complete Freefall
Chicago has cratered since winning their opener in Portland, posting a 3-12 record in the 15 games since. The loss of Rickea Jackson has proven to be too much for them to overcome. After trading away Angel Reese and building a win-now roster, the Sky are right back to tanking for a good draft position. They enter this game with a 1-6 record, generally hoping to avoid another defeat as they sink towards the bottom of the league.
Fire vs Sky WNBA Pick
The Sky may have got the better of the Fire in the opener, but those were two different teams than the ones playing today. Chicago has looked like a shell of its former self since losing Rickea Jackson, and has continued to get worse as the season progresses leading up to one of the worst results in franchise history against the Sun. Meanwhile, a brand new Portland team continues to mesh and improve. Take the Fire.
