Jordan and Algeria meet in this Group J matchup, each seeking to earn a victory and advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. Algeria enters as the favorite in what should be a close matchup.

Jordan is sure to enter the group stage with loads of energy and motivation after qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in history. They face a challenging path to the elimination round in a group headlined by the defending champions. In order to have a shot of sneaking out of this round and advancing, Jordan's best opportunity will be in this game versus Algeria. They'll need to go at 110% all game to have a chance.
Algeria returns to the World Cup for the first time since 2014 when they made it to the top-16 before losing to the eventual champions. They're hoping for a similarly successful group stage this time around, but face a challenging path in a stacked group. Still, the expansion of the knockout round to 32 teams should make a difference for #28 Algeria. They need to take down Jordan to avoid disappointment and an early exit.
Algeria enters this clash ranked 35 spots above Jordan in the World ranking, yet this could very possibly be a close game. It's Jordan's best chance to earn a win in their first-ever World Cup and their roster is talented enough to pull off the upset if Algeria isn't at their best. I leaned towards projecting a draw in this one, but ultimately I believe Algeria will avoid a letdown and win this game by a score close to 2-1.
