- Seattle Sounders aiming to bounce back following recent loss
Two leading contenders in the Western Conference collide in the final round of matches before the FIFA World Cup on May 24, as LAFC host the Seattle Sounders.
Both teams will be hoping for responses on Sunday, with the Sounders losing against the LA Galaxy last weekend, and LAFC having gone four without a victory.

LAFC Dropping Down Standings
There will be major pressure on LAFC to bounce back to form following three successive defeats in the MLS, while they have failed to win in their last five in all competitions. Their reliable defensive record has imploded in recent rounds, as they have allowed nine goals in their last three.
The negative run of results have seen LAFC drop to seventh in the Western Conference standings, and they could drop out of the top eight if they lose on Sunday. However, a return to winning ways could see them climb back up to fourth.

Sounders Hoping to Avoid Successive Defeats
The Seattle Sounders will also have questions to answer this weekend after their unbeaten home start to the season was ended by the LA Galaxy last Saturday. Despite this, the Sounders have largely been reliable in the MLS this term, having avoided defeat in nine of their last ten fixtures.
A slight question could be asked of their away record, as the Sounders have failed to win in two of their previous three on the road, but they have lost just once in six away fixtures. Paul Rothrock has been their leading marksman this season, with the American having scored four goals.

LAFC vs. Seattle Picks
LAFC need to turn their form around soon, and this could be the perfect opportunity. They have won eight of their last eleven against the Sounders at BMO Field, and their overall home record has been reliable this season after winning four of their seven fixtures.
