Interesting action between two struggling teams in the MLS is set for May 24, as the Columbus Crew host Atlanta United.
Both sides will be aiming to end inconsistent runs of form, with the Crew hoping to snap a four-game winless run in the MLS before the break in play due to the FIFA World Cup.

It has been a slow start to the 2026 season for the Columbus Crew and their fading playoff hopes. The Crew come into this round of matches without a win in their last four, and it is important to note that they have suffered three defeats over that period.
Defensive issues have been a hindrance to their progress, as they have allowed at least three goals in all defeats over that period. A glimmer of hope can be taken from the fact that they ended a losing run last weekend, playing out a creditable 1-1 draw on the road against the Philadelphia Union.

The idea that Gerardo Martino’s return to Atlanta United would signal an immediate return to playoff contention has fallen short. Instead, United have found wins hard to come by throughout the campaign, winning just three times in the opening 13 rounds.
A glimmer of hope can be taken from the fact that they have avoided defeat in three of their last four, with a point picked up against Orlando City last weekend. However, on the road, United have won just one of their five fixtures.
