Lionel Messi will be hoping to warm up for the FIFA World Cup with another win with Inter Miami on May 24, as the defending MLS champions host the Philadelphia Union.
Inter will be heavily favored against the Union, as the visitors have failed to win in their previous seven MLS fixtures.

It was a long wait, but Inter Miami finally opened their account at Nu Stadium with a first win last weekend. Inter were dominant from start to finish, and both of their goals were scored in the opening 40 minutes.
Messi opened the scoring, before Mexican German Berterame continued his excellent recent run in front of goal with the second. The victory means that Inter come into this round sitting second in the Eastern Conference, and they have now recorded victories in each of their last three.

After finishing top of the Eastern Conference standings at the end of last season’s regular season, there would have been lofty ambitions in 2026. However, the Philadelphia Union have failed to reach the targets set so far this term, as they sit bottom of the standings with just one victory in the opening 14 rounds.
They have at least been harder to beat in their previous eight, losing three times compared to six successive losses in the opening six rounds. Last weekend, confidence would have been gained following a 1-1 draw with Columbus.

This is a perfect opportunity for Inter to record a second straight home win. Miami have been in excellent recent form after winning their previous three, while the Union have struggled for victories throughout the campaign. Philadelphia’s away form is also notable, as they have lost six of their eight.
