Event Preview

The NASCAR Cup Series action continues this weekend, as the sixth race of the 2026 season is set for Darlington Raceway. The Goodyear 400 was staged for the first time in 1952, with the drivers completing a total of 293 laps to cover the 400.238-mile race distance.

Tyler Reddick continues to be the driver to catch in the Drivers’ Championship, with the American having won three of the opening five races. However, he comes into this weekend after suffering his worst finish of the campaign to this point last weekend after finishing 13^th in the Pennzoil 400.

Ryan Blaney is also a race winner this year, as he landed the Straight Talk Wireless 500 a few weeks back. Denny Hamlin was the most recent winner, leading the Pennzoil 400 for the most laps, and adding the fastest lap for good measure.

Christopher Bell had achieved pole position in last weekend’s race, but he could only finish fourth in the overall classifications. Despite that, Bell has enjoyed a consistent start to the new season, achieving top-five finishes in each of the last three rounds.

Cases can be made for many of the drivers this weekend, but a chance is taken on Chase Elliott to win for the first time in 2026. Elliott has been driving consistently throughout the campaign, and battled back to achieve a second-place finish last time out.
