Are you on the lookout for some (hopefully) useful UFC 307 predictions? If so, you’re at the right place!
On this page, you will see our top picks for all the fights taking on the program on October 5 in Salt Lake City’s Delta Center. This includes the Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. fight, in which the defending champ is a -460 favorite.
What this means is that if the +360 underdog wins, it’s going to be the biggest upset in a title fight in the history of the UFC Light Heavyweight Division.
Can Khalil Rountree pull it off? Keep reading this UFC 307 betting preview to find out!
Khalil Rountree is the Best UFC Longshot Bet in a While
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Alex Pereira | -460 |
Khalil Rountree Jr. | +360 |
If you like betting on underdogs, Khalil Rountree is your man. His UFC 307 odds are -360 at BetOnline, meaning that oddsmakers don’t have too much faith in him. But they might be wrong.
Actually, they were wrong many times before – Rountree won five of the six UFC fights in which he was the betting underdog.
His odds make him a tempting betting option, but how realistic is it that he’ll become the new 205lb king this coming Sunday?
Well, he’s a hell of a striker, who tends to do well against kickboxers. He’s already defeated one former Glory Light Heavyweight Championship (Gokhan Saki), so don’t be too shocked if he does the same to Pereira.
But if you’re going to back “The War Horse,” don’t bet all your fortune on him. There are many other safer UFC 307 bets you can place. Keep on reading to learn more about them!

Raquel Pennington Ready for a Marathon Fight (Julianna Pena Isn’t!)
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Raquel Pennington | +145 |
Julianna Pena | -170 |
Raquel Pennington, the defending champ of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Division, is given -170 odds, which we think is great value.
Our prediction is that she’ll grind her way to victory on Sunday, winning by decision in the end. Eleven of her 16 career wins happened this way, so it’s only logical to think she’ll do the same again at UFC 307.
The event is taking place in Salt Lake City at an elevation of over 4,300 feet. Pennington is used to this given that she lives in Colorado Springs, at a 6,000 feet altitude. Her opponent, Julianna Pena, is not used to this height.
Plus, Pena hasn’t fought in more than two years, with her most recent fight being the loss to Amanda Nunes. It was a loss by decision, but she really got beat up by “The Lioness” who knocked her down three times.
Our prediction is that Pennington will do something similar. Sure, she’s not Amanda Nunes, but she’s good enough to land just enough strikes to win over the judges.

Raquel Pennington by Decision (+110)

For Jose Aldo, Age is Just a Number
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Jose Aldo | +107 |
Mario Bautista | -127 |
Jose Aldo is 38, but one could argue that he looks older. Well, there are some rumors that something’s wrong with his birth certificate and that he’s already in his forties, but we’re not going to get into that. Instead, we’ll focus on his UFC 307 fight.
Earlier this year, the UFC Hall of Famer came out of retirement to fight rising star Jonathan Martinez. As you’d expect, Aldo was a big underdog but ended up upsetting the odds and winning by decision.
It’s the same thing all over again ahead of his fight with Mario Bautista. Can he prove the oddsmakers wrong one more time?
We think he can because Bautista looks like an ideal opponent for Aldo. His seven years younger opponent loves grappling, but we’re sure he won’t be able to use those skills against this guy.
Instead, our prediction is that this is going to be a striking duel, and same as many such fights before, we think Aldo is going to triumph.
Pick
Jose Aldo to Win (+107)

Kayla Harrison Could Be Just a Win Away From Getting a Title Shot
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Kayla Harrison | -900 |
Ketlen Vieira | +600 |
Kayla Harrison is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo, whose MMA career started in 2018 in PFL. After going 16-1 and establishing herself as one of the best lightweights in women’s martial arts, she moved to the UFC.
On her debut, she fought against former champ Holly Holm. It took Kayla just one and a half rounds to get a win. As you’d imagine, it happened by submission.
Now, she’s supposed to fight against Ketlen Vieira, who’s younger than Holm and has a better set of wrestling skills than “The Preacher’s Daughter.” But this is actually good news for Kayla.
Why? Because she won’t have to worry too much about getting hit. Instead, she’ll be able to focus on her clinch and ground game, so we might see her get a submission even quicker than the last time.
In fact, we’re almost certain that she’ll go for a fast finish as it could easily result in her getting a shot at the title next year.
Pick
Kayla Harrison by Submission (+375)

There you go, the rest of our UFC 307 picks. As you can see most of our picks are fighters favored by bookies, with a couple of notable exceptions. The biggest one is Stephen Thompson who we think can produce magic with his counterstrikes and put his opponent to sleep.
Still, such a scenario wouldn’t be as surprising as the one we predict for the main event of UFC 307. We think Khalil Rountree Jr. might pull off an upset. Sure, it’s not very likely but given that his odds are +360, we think putting at least some cash on this guy would be the right thing to do.
