Wizards vs 76ers Preview

Sixers On Brink Of Next Round

The Sixers are standing on the edge of the next round, as they need just one more victory to book their passage through to the Eastern Conference semi-finals. A game against the Atlanta Hawks could lie in wait for the Sixers, as the Hawks currently lead the New York Knicks 3-1 going into game five of their series. It has been very comfortable for the Sixers throughout this series so far, as they have cruised into a 3-1 lead. Philadelphia won all three of the opening games, before the Wizards avoided a whitewash by winning the most recent game.

The Sixers have scored at least 100 points in all four of the games so far, while they have scored 120 at least in the three wins that they have achieved. Their most recent win came on the road against the Wizards, as they won 132-103. That victory came on Saturday evening, with five Sixers scoring at least ten points. Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 36 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Tobias Harris also chipped in with 20 points, while Danny Green and Seth Curry both finished with 15.

Wizards Have Difficult Challenge

It would already appear difficult to see the Wizards getting back into this series, but a win in game five would at least give them a glimmer of hope. Only a victory will do for the Wizards on Wednesday evening, which means that they will be looking for a repeat performance from their game earlier in the week. Washington managed to stay alive in game four by taking the 122-114 victory with home court advantage. Philadelphia started the stronger of the two sides, but the Wizards fought back excellently in the second and third periods, as they scored 32 points in both.

Bradley Beal was in excellent form in front of the basket, as he scored 27 points. However, Russell Westbrook was the star of the show for the Wizards, as he scored 19 points, 14 assists and 21 rebounds in the victory. Rui Hachimura also scored 20 points, while Davis Bertans, Daniel Gafford, Robin Lopez and Raul Neto all finished with at least ten points.

Wizards vs 76ers Pick & Prediction

We find it hard to believe that a game six will be needed between these two sides, as the Sixers kept an awful lot in reserve in the recent defeat that they suffered against the Wizards. The Sixers should get the job done and book their place in the Eastern Conference semi-finals on Wednesday evening.
