Suns vs Clippers Preview

Suns In Commanding Position

The Phoenix Suns are enjoying an excellent season in the NBA, and already look great value for a spot in the automatic playoff positions. Phoenix will be happiest that they will avoid the play-in tournament for the playoffs, but will still be looking to end the regular season as strongly as possible. The Suns have a win percentage of .705 this season, which is slightly lower than the average of .721, which has been recorded by the Utah Jazz, who are leading the way in the conference.

Phoenix could close the gap on the leaders with a win on Wednesday, as they have picked up seven wins from their previous ten league games. The Suns bounced back from defeat on Monday evening, as they beat the New York Knicks 118-110. Devin Booker scored 33 points in the victory, while Mikal Bridges and Chris Paul ended with 21 and 20 points respectively.

Clippers Hoping To Bounce Back

The Los Angeles Clippers are one of the most resilient sides in the NBA this season, as they have a commanding position in the Western Conference without having reached their peak performance level yet. There is a real chance that this could be the season that Kawhi Leonard delivers the NBA championship that the franchise have craved. The Clippers have won eight of their previous ten games in the NBA, and have an excellent record on the road, as they have lost just nine of the 29 games that they have played.

However, the Clippers will be hoping to bounce back on Wednesday evening, as they were beaten 120-103 on their last outing against the New Orleans Pelicans. A slow start in that game cost the Clippers, as they were behind 33-20 after the opening quarter. Leonard wasn’t playing for the Clippers on Monday evening, as they were led by 17 points from Terance Mann. DeMarcus Cousins scored 16 points, while Marcus Morris Sr and Amir Coffey both scored more than ten points each.

Suns vs Clippers Head To Head

The travelling team have an excellent record against the Suns. They have won the last two games between the sides, which have both been played this season. The last win for the Suns came in August 2020, but that is their only win in four against the Clippers.

Suns vs Clippers Pick

This should be a fascinating game between two sides that look almost certain to be competing in the Western Conference playoffs. However, we could see the Suns getting a rare win against the Clippers on Wednesday evening.
