Newcastle United beat Arsenal 1-0 in the Premier League, to continue the Gunners poor league from in their charge for a title.

Newcastle were out of the blocks early, with Anthony Gordon marking his return from injury, whipping in a cross for Alexander Isak to nod home.

Arsenal tried to hit back as Mikel Merino had his volley cleared off the line by Lewis Hall.

Both Declan Rice and Ethan Nwaneri had chances in the second half, but the Gunners would fall short in a game they looked devoid of ideas going forward.
