Türkiye and the USA meet on matchday 3 of Group D at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, in the most anticipated fixture of the group stage for American fans.
Arda Güler leads a Türkiye side that beat the United States 2-1 in a friendly just 12 months ago, arriving in LA with real belief they can do it again.

Arda Güler is 21 years old and spent this season leading all Real Madrid players in chances created. He supplied 14 assists and scored six times in La Liga, and was named the Champions League's Revelation of the Season. Kenan Yıldız operates alongside him at Juventus, completing 3.5 dribbles per 90 in qualifying. Hakan Çalhanoğlu runs the engine room from Inter Milan, one of the best deep-lying playmakers in European football. This is a midfield that can hurt any side in the world on their day.
Türkiye beat the USA 2-1 in a June 2025 friendly and won six of their eight qualifying matches, scoring 19 goals. Vincenzo Montella has built a disciplined, technically sharp side that is comfortable with and without the ball. The market prices this as essentially a coin flip, and on the evidence of recent form, that's a fair reflection.

Christian Pulisic is the player this game turns on for the USA. He has 32 international goals and arrives off one of his better AC Milan seasons, operating as the creative focal point Pochettino's press-heavy system is built around. Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams provide the midfield structure behind him. Folarin Balogun, Ricardo Pepi, and Haji Wright give the USA genuine forward depth.
SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will be the loudest venue the USA have played in during this tournament. The home crowd is a genuine factor, not a sentiment. But Türkiye's midfield pressed and passed their way through UEFA qualifying without losing many games, and Güler in the kind of form he showed at Real Madrid this season is exactly the player who punishes a high defensive line. If Pulisic wins his individual battles, the USA win. If Güler does, Türkiye nick a historic result.
