Canes Aiming for First Stanley Cup Win Since 2006

For the first time since winning the Stanley Cup in 2006, the Carolina Hurricanes will be back in the season-defining series. The Canes have been strong throughout the season, but they have taken their form to the next level in the post-season, beginning with back-to-back sweeps against the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers.

In the Eastern Conference Finals, they overcame the Montreal Canadiens in five games. History has already been made by the Canes this term, recording the fewest post-season defeats on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals since the Canadiens in 1975-76.

Jack Eichel has been one of their standout players, scoring a team-high 90 points. Prior to the sweep against the Avalanche, the Golden Knights had beaten the Utah Mammoth in six games and the Anaheim Ducks in six games.
