The job is nearly done for the Carolina Hurricanes, as they are within one victory against the Montreal Canadiens of securing their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Habs will face a must-win encounter this week, as a defeat will leave them crashing out of the postseason in five games.

All of the momentum is with the Carolina Hurricanes ahead of Game 5 this weekend following a dominant 4-0 win in Montreal on Wednesday. The Canes stormed into the lead earlier this week, scoring three goals in the opening frame. Their win was ensured in the final frame with another goal.
Nikolaj Ehlers and Shayne Gotisbehere both ended the night with two assists apiece, while goals in the dominant win were scored by Jordan Staal, Sebastian Aho, and Logan Stankoven.
This Friday’s clash represents a must-win encounter for the Montreal Canadiens, as a defeat would leave their playoff dreams in tatters. However, positives can be drawn from their road record this season, which includes a win in Carolina in Game 1 of this series.
Offensively, they were weak in Game 4, with just 18 shots registered on goal. Cole Caufield will be crucial in getting the offensive players back on track this week, but the Canes defense martialed the star man excellently in Games 3 and 4.

The Canes have been excellent in the last three games, as they have turned this series on its head. We fully expect for them to secure their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday.
