The Mercury trailed 80-79 with 3:49 left to go in regulation. However, Phoenix responded with a 12-3 burst en route to securing an eight-point win.
Four players reached double figures for the Mercury. Jovana Nogic guided the offense with 27 points and four rebounds. She shot 6-for-11 overall and 5-for-8 from 3-point territory. Alyssa Thomas registered 17 points, 11 boards, and six dimes.
Toronto salvaged a two-game set with a win over the Sparks
On the other side, after coming up short against Los Angeles on Friday, the Tempo evened the season series with a 106-96 victory on Sunday. This marked the third time that they held an opponent below 100 points.
Toronto outscored the Sparks in each of the first three quarters, taking a 12-point advantage into the final frame. Although Los Angeles had its highest point total in the fourth (29 points), it wasn't enough to prevent the Tempo from getting their first road win of the 2026 campaign.
Brittney Sykes was one of four players in double figures. She finished with a career-high 38 points on 10-for-21 shooting and a perfect 15-for-15 effort from the charity stripe. Kiki Rice added 19 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
