Dean Kremer is the O’s 2nd 2nd-Best Starter and Has a 5.73 ERA

It speaks to how poorly the 2025 season has gone for the Orioles that Dean Kremer has a 5.73 ERA and has the second-highest bWAR for their healthy starters. In 7 starts, he has thrown 37.2 innings and given up 43 hits. He has allowed 24 earned runs.

However, he does have the ability. Just two years ago, he had a 1.4 bWAR, went 13-5, and helped the O’s to a division title. On a positive note, his last outing was his best start of the season. Against the Royals, he threw 7 shutout innings, giving up 3 hits.

Kremer has handled the Twins in the past. Carlos Correa is 2 for 2 with a double. Harrison Bader is 2 for 2 with 2 singles. Ty France is 1 for 9.

Baltimore’s offense has been abysmal. Even Cedric Mullins, who got off to a blazing start, has fallen to Earth. His batting average is now down to .237 despite his 7 homers and .815 OPS. Ryan O’Hearn is batting over .300 with 7 homers. Jackson Holliday is batting .263 with 4 homers and a .754 OPS.

Given the Orioles’ expectations coming into the season, that there is a new ownership, and that they have not won a postseason game despite making the playoffs in consecutive seasons, changes may be on the horizon.

Minnesota Has Won 4 Straight

The Twins got off to a horrid start, but they have shown signs of life lately, winning 4 straight to inch closer to .500. For the third game of their series against the Orioles, they send Joe Ryan to the hill trying for a sweep.

Minnesota’s struggles are not due to Ryan. The righty has a 2.93 ERA and has pitched at least 5 innings in all 7 of his starts. In his last outing, he threw 6 innings and surrendered 1 earned run and 4 hits in Boston.

The Orioles have a .161 batting average against Ryan. Ryan Mountcastle is 1 for 6 with a double. Mullins is 2 for 8 with 2 doubles. Adley Rutschman is 1 for 5 with a single.

Minnesota’s hitting has been coming around lately. Byron Buxton’s batting average is up to .274, and he has 9 homers and 7 stolen bases. Harrison Bader has an .825 OPS and 4 homers. Correa is still trying to get it together, batting .226 with 2 home runs.

Orioles vs Twins Pick: Ryan Will Complete the Sweep for Minnesota

The pitching matchup tilts toward the Twins. In addition, the Orioles are in complete disarray and need a major wake-up call. This is the Twins’ game, and they will finish off the sweep.
