Switzerland takes on Bosnia in a Group B clash that they are favored to win. It should be an exciting matchup between two solid squads. Bosnia will lean on their defense to try and pull off the upset.

Switzerland is aiming for back-to-back trips to the knockout stage of the World Cup after escaping their group in 2022, before bowing out in the first elimination round to Portugal. They have a favorable group once again in 2026, giving them a good chance to return to the elimination round. Switzerland plays a fast but disciplined style of football that holds the potential to earn wins on any given day, no matter how difficult.
Making just their 2nd World Cup appearance, Bosnia is hoping to earn its first trip to the elimination stage of the tournament. The new 32-team format raises their odds, but they still need to pull off an upset or two to have a chance. They enter this game with Switzerland as the underdogs, but not by a huge margin. If they can produce their best football, Bosnia will have a chance at pulling off a shocking upset in this matchup.
As exciting as it is to watch fledgling World Cup teams like Bosnia pull off the improbable, I don't recommend putting money on it. Switzerland has a history of success in the World Cup group stage and has a strong defense that is likely to feel suffocating for Bosnia. Unless they find a way to break through Switzerland's defenses early, this will likely end as an uphill climb for Bosnia, the likes of a 2-0 Switzerland victory.
