The Spurs held a four-point advantage through three quarters. But Minnesota responded with a 34-25 edge in the fourth and held on for the win despite multiple shaky sequences down the stretch.
De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper tied for team-high scoring honors with 24 points each. Stephon Castle finished with 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Minnesota seeks its second road win of the series
On the other side, Minnesota pulled away in the final moments to level the series at 2-2.
Anthony Edwards led the way with 36 points (including 16 in the fourth quarter) on 13-for-22 shooting. Naz Reid registered 15 points, nine boards, and four assists. Although the margin of victory should have been larger without Wembayama wreaking havoc on the defensive end, the Timberwolves still scored 58 points in the paint.
Will San Antonio bounce back from a narrow loss, or will Minnesota become the first team to win two straight games in this series?
