Warriors-Rockets Game 5 Recap
Following consecutive wins, the Warriors were thoroughly outplayed by the Rockets in Game 5, dropping that contest by a 131-116 margin.
Moses Moody, who comes off the bench, led the team with 25 points and nine rebounds. He shot 50 percent from the field and 3-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Kevin Knox II added 14 points and four rebounds. In what proved to be a blowout, the Warriors’ bench produced 76 points, while the starting five mustered just 40 points.
On the other side of the matchup, Fred VanVleet had another solid outing. He put up 26 points and connected on four of his six attempts from 3-point range.
Amen Thompson finished with 25 points, six rebounds, five steals, and three blocked shots. Dillon Brooks contributed 24.
The Rockets took control of the game early and led by 27 points at the break. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr emptied the bench following a VanVleet layup that gave Houston a 93-64 advantage.
The reserves made the final margin somewhat respectable, but the game’s outcome was never in doubt.
Warriors vs Rockets Pick: Can Golden State Close This Thing Out?
Will the Dubs move on, or will the Rockets force a Game 7 back on their home floor? Here’s a look at a few betting trends for both sides heading into Game 6.
- The Warriors are 9-1 straight-up (SU) in their last 10 home games against Houston.
- Golden State is 2-5 against the spread in its previous seven outings.
- The Rockets are 4-16 in their last 20 matchups against the Warriors.
- Houston is 5-11 ATS in its previous 16 contests against Golden State.
Despite losing by a double-digit margin, the Warriors enter Game 6 as a 4.5-point favorite, according to BetOnline. With an opportunity to take care of business at home, the Warriors will put together a bounce-back performance in what will be a much more competitive affair than what we witnessed in Game 5.
