The third major of the golf season is set for New York, beginning on June 18. For the first time since 2018, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club will host the U.S. Open, as Scottie Scheffler aims to complete the Career Grand Slam.

The American will be a red-hot favorite to win the major, but which players could be overpriced to win the U.S. Open in 2026? You can find 3 longshots to consider here.

U.S. Open Longshots to Consider

Brooks Koepka

The U.S. Open was last played at Shinnecock Hills back in 2018, as Brooks Koepka won the title. Therefore, at a big price the American could be overlooked based on his course form.

Koepka has been steadily building form since re-joining the PGA Tour this year, and has achieved multiple top-20 finishes.

Koepka also has experience at majors, winning five championships during his career. His record in the majors this season is also encouraging, finishing T12 at The Masters.

Justin Rose

While Justin Rose will be a big price for the U.S. Open this year, it is worth considering the level of form that the Englishman brings into the major.

Rose won the U.S. Open back in 2013, and he has finished in the top ten in both The Masters and PGA Championship in 2026. Rose will need to overcome a poor recent record at the U.S. Open, having failed to make the cut in five of the last six years.

But, he was T10 back in 2018 when the event was previously held in New York, and he has finished in the top-ten on three occasions at the U.S. Open since 2013.

Justin Rose (+5000)

Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa has been back to playing at a high level this calendar year, having ended his three-year wait for a victory on the PGA Tour when landing the AT&T Pebble Beach in February.

Injuries have limited his momentum since then, but he still finished a very credible T7 at The Masters. His experience of winning majors will bode well for his chances among the leading longshots this weekend.

Morikawa has made the cut in each of the last five editions of the U.S. Open, achieving a career best T4 in 2021. He has also finished in the top 15 at the major on four occasions since 2021.

Collin Morikawa (+6000)
