Can the Storm regroup following a narrow loss to Los Angeles?

Seattle improved to 3-4 following back-to-back wins against the Sun and Mystics in late May. Since then, the team has dropped each of its last seven games. The latest setback was an 88-83 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Storm trailed by as many as 14. But thanks to a late push, they pulled within one possession late in the final frame. With a chance to tie the game, Natisha Hiedeman was off the mark on a long 3-point attempt. Kelsey Plum secured the win by calmly knocking down a pair of free throws.

All five starters reached double figures for Seattle. Hiedeman powered the offense with 16 points and five assists. Dominque Malonga scored 15 and collected seven rebounds. The Storm were outrebounded 42-34 and surrendered 48 points in the paint.

Golden State looks to build on its recent win over the Mercury

Following back-to-back wins over Connecticut and Indiana, the Valkyries dropped three of their next four games. Fortunately, they ended the stretch by posting an 87-81 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday.

The Valkyries built a 17‑point halftime cushion, only for Phoenix to storm back and cut the margin to four midway through the final frame. But when the game tightened, timely buckets from Gabby Williams and Kayla Thornton steadied Golden State, allowing the Valkyries to close out a hard‑fought six‑point win.

Veronica Burton tied for team-high scoring honors with 25 points and eight assists. Williams also put up 25 points and collected four rebounds. Despite losing the rebounding battle 33-27, the home team held its own inside and scored 17 points off nine Mercury turnovers.

Storm vs Valkyries WNBA Pick

On the heels of seven straight defeats, Seattle enters this battle as a 7.5-point underdog. Here's a look at what you need to know for both teams ahead of this contest.

  • The Storm are 2-8 (SU) in their previous 10 games.
  • Seattle is 1-6 ATS in its last seven outings.
  • The Valkyries are 6-4 (SU) in their previous 10 contests.
  • Golden State is 4-3 ATS in its last seven matchups.

The Storm are just 2–3 in the previous five meetings, while Golden State has dropped five of its last seven on the road. In a matchup defined by shaky trends on both sides, the advantage swings toward the Valkyries — a top‑10 force on both ends of the floor and the steadier team entering this contest.
