The third Grand Slam of the season on the WTA Tour takes place across the start of July, with the 2024 champion set to be crowned on Centre Court on Saturday, July 13. A competitive edition of the event is once again likely this year at Wimbledon, but which women’s player could come out as the champion?

Before Betting On Women’s Wimbledon Outright Winner

The Women’s Wimbledon Championship is the oldest Grand Slam event on the tennis schedule, and it is widely considered to be the tournament that all players grow up dreaming of winning. It is the only Grand Slam event to be staged on the grass surface, meaning it is one of the most draining for players involved. Martina Navratilova has been the most successful player in the history of the event, winning nine titles during the Open Era.

Iga Swiatek has been the dominant player in the women’s game over recent years, and she could kick off her grass season campaign as a four-time winner of the French Open. The Polish star is the top-ranked player in the world, but her recent performances at Wimbledon could raise questions, as she has never progressed past the quarterfinal stage.

Aryna Sabalenka battled through injury at the French Open before losing in the quarterfinals. However, that was her earliest exit at a Grand Slam event since being knocked out in the third round at the French Open in 2022. She boasts excellent pedigree on the grass, reaching the final four in each of the last two editions of Wimbledon.

Elena Rybakina also excited at the quarterfinal stage at the French Open, but she has strong claims after winning Wimbledon back in 2022. Marketa Vondrousova was the shock winner of the Grand Slam last year, but the Czech player will be hoping for a return to form when the grass season gets underway.
