The first semi-final in the men’s draw at Wimbledon will take place on Centre Court on Friday. Pre-tournament favorite Carlos Alcaraz will be looking to take another step toward defending his Wimbledon title by claiming victory over fifth-seed Daniil Medvedev.
Before Betting On Daniil Medvedev vs Carlos Alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz continues his search for a fourth Grand Slam title this week, as he competes in the semi-final stage at Wimbledon against Daniil Medvedev. The Spanish superstar is currently ranked third in the official ratings, and has been extremely consistent in Grand Slam events since the start of 2023, reaching two finals and two semi-finals.
Alcaraz came into Wimbledon this year as the defending champion, but he has endured one of the most challenging runs to this stage after competing after three seeded rivals. After needing five sets to overcome Francis Tiafoe, he navigated matches against Ugo Humbert and Tommy Paul. He beat the latter in the quarterfinals, coming back from a set down to claim victory in four sets.
Daniil Medvedev has looked back to his very best so far this year, and he will be looking to reach a third final in four Grand Slam events. He has already matched his previous best showing at Wimbledon by reaching the semi-final stage, but to date, he has won just one Grand Slam title and has lost in five finals.
Medvedev was involved in one of the best matches of the competition so far in the previous round, as he knocked out top seed Jannik Sinner in a thrilling five-set contest on Centre Court. The Russian won an impressive 76% of the points on his first serve, and smashed 160 winners against the top-ranked player in the tournament.
Daniil Medvedev vs Carlos Alcaraz Offshore Odds & Picks
Alcaraz has won four of the previous six showdowns between these rivals, including a semi-final against Medvedev at Wimbledon last year. The Spanish superstar could repeat history on Centre Court on Friday.
