Recent Form Of Teams

It has been a tough season for West Ham United, and the challenge of securing their Premier League status is a much bigger one for David Moyes this time around. However, there will be an incentive for the Scot, as he will likely land the West Ham job on a full-time basis should he keep them up this season, and at present they are the right side of the drop zone.

However, their advantage is a slim one as they are outside the bottom three on goal difference. This could be a pivotal week in the battle to avoid relegation, as Bournemouth have a favourable home fixture against Newcastle United.  A win for the Cherries coupled with defeat for the Hammers would see West Ham move down into the bottom three. There isn’t much reason for optimism after the Hammers have lost their last three.

They will be up against one of the in-form teams in the Premier League this season in Chelsea, as the Blues have won three games on the bounce and have been in excellent form since the season resumed. Since the restart, the Blues have beaten Aston Villa and Manchester City in the league, and also booked their place in the last four of the FA Cup with a victory over Leicester City. There is still work to do for the Blues to consolidate their place in the top four, which means every game is a must win one for the Blues.

Recent Meetings Between West Ham United & Chelsea

West Ham’s record against Chelsea hasn’t been that bad over the last five games, as they have lost just once. That defeat came in this fixture last season as the Blues wrapped up a 2-0 win. Over the last five, the Hammers have won twice, and there have also been two draws. West Ham won the game earlier in the season 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Latest Team News

Christian Pulisic will be a doubt for the Blues, while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Fikayo Timori will also be missing. Sebastien Haller and Robert Snodgrass will both be missing for the Hammers.

West Ham United vs Chelsea Prediction

West Ham played reasonably well in the London derby that they were involved in last week against Tottenham Hotspur. However, this is a completely different proposition, and there is an expectancy that the Blues will cruise to an easy three points at the London Stadium.
